Welcome back Indie Game Enthusiasts! Today, on Indie Game Update, we will continue our discussion from the previous week on what it takes to create an indie game!
9. Constructive Criticism and Feedback
When you create your game and begin to share with family, friends, or people on social media everyone will have an opinion. Some of the opinions will be valid, and other “opinions” will be nothing more than people trying to tear you down.
So, how do you deal with all the feedback and chaos?
I believe the best way to handle this situation is to ignore comments that will not benefit the improvement of your game. I know that it is easier said than done, but focus on the advice from people who have your best interest since they are rooting for your success.
Advice that is constructive should be taken into consideration but shouldn’t be the end all be all for how you proceed with making game changes. While it is important to take your target audiences opinion into consideration, you as the creator ultimately has the final decision.
That is all the advice I’ve gained so far! For the next few updates, we will focus on tools that are useful for indie game development.

See you soon!
